Social Media Guidlines in AP Style Guide
A social guideline section has been added to AP style guide giving journalists and media personnel information on writing correctly about Facebook and Twitter. The acceptance of these guidlines shows how much America is evolving intof the digital age. Facebook and Twitter have become extremely important tools to the young people of the new millenium. Along with these guidlines, many speling of words were added. Some of the words included high-five, Alcoholics Anonomyous, thumbs-up, etc. All of these have been commonly spelled phrases and words used amoung old and young people. These changes are well over-due especially the high-five, a word used for decades now. If only the people who write the AP style guide would continue to add good changes like these because there are several other words waiting to be defined. One change that I liked alot was the addition of countries to particular cities when they are addressed in a new story. When reading its annoying to come across a city and not know where it is located, it is frustrating if you're actually interested in the sotry and then have to research to find out what you are reading about.
