Blook- The Latest in Blogging Online

Today in class we had the opportunity to speak with Sandy Ordonez who is behind the website OurBlook.com.  OurBlook was started about two years ago when blogs had just hit their peak in popularity.  This website is different from others because it it has an authoritative power to preview everything put on the website to check for legitimacy.  The website has also begun partnering with universities, which is what I will be doing in my class, allowing young journalists to voice their thoughts.  This program is designed to give web and digital knowledge to prepare for the Journalism field.  My particular job in  this project involves going out into the community of Waco and figuring out whose important and what they are doing. My class will essentially be community liaison, reporting on what the community wants to hear about their fellow Wacoans.  This new style of writing has opened a whole new outlet for journalists and the media. When Ms. Ordonez was asked about the drawbacks for using different media outlets for the same message, she responded by saying there isn't any drawbacks it simply means there will be more creativity and skill put into each report.  As our generation soars into the future we must keep up with fast, efficient media outlets such as OurBlook.
