This Tex-Mex restaurant chain began back in 1940 when five son's of famous cook Adelaida Cuellar opened the first El Chico. Since then over 100 locations have opened in the Texas and Oklahoma area expanding the El Chico franchise. The El Chico atmosphere brings you to a Mexican cantina to experience a mixture of Texan and Mexican dishes. Each meal starts off with their complimentary chips and salsa which can be complimented with their "top shelf"queso or quacamole. A great appetizer that allows you to sample a little bit of everything is the Fiesta Sample, which includes: chicken fajita nachos, mini-tacos, taco beef quesadillas, chicken chalupa, beef taquitos and tamale bites. For entrees there is a variety of Tex-Mex dishes such as beef and chicken fajitas, enchiladas (even brisket!), burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and tamales. From personal experience I would recommend the fajitas, excellent meat and delicious toppings. To complete the meal El Chico the traditional Mexican desserts of fried ice cream and sopapillas. To wash down all the chips and salsa El Chico serves up ultimate margaritas and cervezas (beer in Spanish!). Average Entree Price: $9 - $16
